The short trip to China was quite an intense one. Had I not been without my great colleague Mr. Pino, I probably wouldn't have survived or made it back in one piece. Thanks to the amazing assembly crew (credits coming up) the pavilion was erected very efficiently. Somehow, the patterns made complete sense in extremely short amount of time to all of the young architects from Shenzhen Polytechnic.
The color was intense enough to turn me into a color blind during the process of assembly. The piece brought strong contrast with the grungy former cement factory environment. The relationship between the piece and the venue in many ways felt parallel to the interesting contrast within the city of Shenzhen.
Many thanks to the students who came to help assemble the structure : Grace, Scarlett, Alex, Dakotu and Holly.
